The Heart of Parker Williams

Before she was even born, Parker Williams was given a zero percent change of living. Even though she was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and an intact atrial septum, her mother wanted to give her a chance to fight.  When talking to other experts in the field no one could give a good prognosis for her condition, but the doctors at Children’s of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) figured out a way to perform the necessary procedures to keep her alive. Now, Parker is celebrating her first birthday and on the transplant list to get a new heart. Thanks to the support of CMNH donors, doctors at Children’s give kids like Parker a chance to live every day.
