On Friday, August 24, Hubbard Broadcasting powerhouse, 101.9 The Mix, capped a week of fundraising with a grand total of $1,042,678.  Chicago radio listeners were once again heroes for Windy City kids during the “Mix Kids” Radiothon benefiting Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital, where all the donations stay local to help local kids. This marked the 19th year of hosting the event for radio Hall of Famer Eric Ferguson. The Mix has helped raise over $28,000,000 in the nearly 20-year partnership with the Lurie Children’s, one of the nation’s leading children’s hospitals and a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Throughout the week, Eric in the Morning with Melissa & Whip featured stories of patients treated at Lurie Children’s, including local CMN Hospitals Champion Benjamin. Volunteers also called previous donors to thank them for their support of the hospital and encourage them to tune in to the morning show. The week culminated in a live broadcast on Friday, which included interviews with patient families, matching power hours sponsored by local corporate partners, and volunteers answering the phones as donors called in. Connor Murphy from the Chicago Blackhawks even stopped by to meet the kids and present a check from the Chicago Blackhawks Foundation.

Thanks Chicagoland for being ALL in for the kids at Lurie Children's. #MIXKids #all4your1
